Brandon James Dockins
Founder
Brandon Dockins is the founder of Dockins Law and is licensed in Idaho and Washington. He has practiced since 2016.
He graduated third in his class from Gonzaga University School of Law. In law school he served on the international law review and competed in two national moot court competitions.
Before law school, he graduated from Boise State University with honors, earning a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a B.A. in Philosophy, with a minor in Political Science.
After law school he spent nearly four years as a law clerk for the United States District Court, drafting opinions for the District Court and matters before the Ninth Circuit. He then practiced briefly with a personal-injury firm before opening Dockins Law.
He works to resolve cases outside of court when that is the better path. When it is not, he is prepared to litigate.
Austin Schley
Attorney
Austin Schley joins Dockins Law with experience in state and local tax matters, particularly indirect taxes affecting businesses across Washington and the broader region. Austin joined the firm in June 2026.
Before joining the firm, Austin served as a Tax Manager at a Big Four accounting firm. He advised clients on sales and use taxes, Washington Business & Occupation (B&O) tax, gross receipts taxes, and other excise taxes. He prepared administrative appeal briefs, refunds, apportionment schedules, and memoranda for taxing authorities; handled voluntary disclosure agreements; assisted with audits; and developed taxability and exposure analyses.
Austin earned his J.D., cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor for the SMU Law Review Association. He received his B.A. in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Whitworth University in Spokane. He is admitted to practice in Washington.
